Temporary PAUSE on Book Donations
The Friends of the Rockport Public Library is putting a TEMPORARY PAUSE on accepting book donations as they reorganize the storage area. They will resume accepting books again in FEBRUARY. Thanks!

Film Screening: "The Search For the Palace Letters"
A Camden Conference Community Event
Janaury 4, at Noon
The library will screen the 2024 documentary The Search for the Palace Letters (59 min, rated PG), followed by an audience discussion (optional). The documentary tells the story Professor Jenny Hocking's epic legal battle against the Australian Government and HM Queen Elizabeth II to access the ‘Palace Letters’, revealing the hidden story behind the dismissal of the democratically elected Whitlam Government in 1975.

FAMILY PROGRAM
After Hours Family Art Night
with guest artist Kristen Eckmann
January 22, at 6:00 p.m.
Midcoast multi-media artist and papermaker, Kristen Eckmann, will be offering a storytelling hands-on workshop for families, inviting them to explore the idea of telling a life story with a small three dimensional object. Families will have the chance to work with fabric and thread. In addition to this, all will be learning basic stitching techniques, surface design, drawing, and collage.
All materials will be provided. Kristen invites participants to bring items from home that speak to the story they wish to share.

The Friends of the Rockport Public Library introduces library lovers to each other while building connections throughout our community. Hosting meetings, events, and book sales, the organization supports the library on several levels. In past years, we have helped purchase library materials; supported the annual butterfly gardens; provided new book stacks and exterior railings; and funded programs that serve everyone using the library. The Foundation is an IRS 501.c3 not-for-profit organization formed in 2018 by a small group of dedicated Rockport residents to raise the required funding for the new Rockport Public Library.
