High school students and their parents are invited to an informative, interactive, and entertaining presentation to help families understand the role essays, interviews, extracurricular activities, sports, course choices and other factors play in the admissions decisions colleges make.

Wendy served on the admissions staff at Bowdoin College from 2000-2012, where she evaluated thousands of applications. Her college and independent school admissions career spans thirty years and she has helped students navigate the college search, selection, and application process since 2003.

Poetry Reading with Kristen Lindquist and Paul McFarland

Join us at the Rockport Public Library on Thursday, April 16th at 4:00pm for a poetry reading with local poets Kristen Lindquist and Paul McFarland.

Kristen Lindquist is one of the best known poets in the mid-coast area. She attended Middlebury College in Vermont after graduating from Camden-Rockport High School and received an MFA degree in poetry from the University of Oregon. Her poems have appeared in many local and state newspapers and periodicals. Her work has garnered many prizes in poetry competitions, been read by Garrison Keillor on National Public Radio, and also read on Maine Public Radio by state of Maine poet laureate, Stuart Kestenbaum.  Lindquist maintains a daily Haiku blog and has a natural History column that appears in the Pen Bay Pilot. She is an avid birder and has led many bird watching outings.
 
Paul McFarland is a native of Camden who graduated from Camden High School. After graduating, he attended the University of Maine in Orono  After teaching algebra and geometry in Littleton, New Hampshire for ten years, he returned to Maine and settled down in Lincolnville. He was employed by O’Hara Corporation for the next forty-three years, dealing with a fishing fleet that was working in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska. Recently retired, he is in the process of publishing a book of poems that he has written over the last thirty years.

Join us the last Saturday of the month for a tabletop game session. Enjoy old favorites like Clue or Monopoly, or try some new games like Tsuro, Sushi Go!, or Click Clack Lumberjack. This event runs from 2:30pm - 5:00pm, is FREE and open to all ages, and includes snacks! (Children under 10 must be accompanied by someone 15 years or older.)
