Oceans of Possibilities: Summer Reading Program
Learn, Explore, & Connect at the Rockport Public Library!
Our Summer Reading Program starts JUNE 24th and ends AUGUST 19th!
Dive into a new book, drop in at one of our programs, and explore the ocean right next door with our Summer Reading Program for children, teens, and adults! READING CHALLENGES FOR YOUTH, AGES 1 MONTH - 18 YEARS
Download our (Summer Reading Tracker) or pick one up at the Rockport Public Library! When you've completed your challenge(s), fill out the contact information on the back and drop it off during any of our open hours or mail it back to the library before 8/19 to enter our Summer Reading Raffle.
  • 30 Day Reading Challenge
    • This challenge is designed to encourage a daily reading habit. For participants too young to read independently, being read to will count towards this challenge. Read for 30 days during our Summer Reading Program and color in a bubble for each day in your Summer Reading tracker to receive a free book and a chance to win additional prizes at our End of Summer Reading Party!
  • Build-Your-Own Summer Challenge
    • Use our Summer Reading tracker to create your own challenge and earn an extra chance to win prizes! Start a new hobby, participate in our programs, finish a book series...there's an Ocean of Possibilities! When you've completed your challenge, fill out your contact info and drop off your tracker at the library.
  • Books for Bikes (4th-12th grade only)
    • In partnership with our local Masons, we're able to offer Books for Bikes again this year! For each book you read, you can enter for a chance to win a new bike donated by the Rockport Masons.
    • Participants must be in 4th-12th grade, and fill out a ticket with their name, grade, and title of the book they've read. You can fill out tickets and add them to the corresponding jars in the Rockport Children's room.
    • Participants will be grouped based on grade: 4th-6th grades, 7th-8th grades, and 9th-12th grades. You will only be eligible to enter the Books for Bikes challenge for your group. Homeschool groups are eligible to participate and can reach out to YS Librarian Charlie to determine which group they'd join.
